Our collection of mid-century tables includes dining tables, coffee tables, side tables, nesting tables and hall tables. These pieces were made for the dining room and living room and remain some of the most recognisable examples of mid-century modern furniture. The range covers designs by Australian furniture makers, alongside original Scandinavian furniture and Danish furniture.
Tables for the dining room
In the dining room, tables came in many forms: compact drop-leaf designs, square and round tables for smaller homes, and large extendable dining tables. Makers such as Parker, Noblett, and TH Brown produced a wide variety of designs in teak, myrtle, and blackbean. From Denmark and Scandinavia came finely built extension tables in teak, oak, and rosewood, while English brands including G Plan and McIntosh also produced well-regarded vintage dining tables.
Tables for living rooms and lounge rooms
In the living room, coffee tables were made in a range of shapes, from rectangular and square to round or retro “kidney” forms. Many included magazine racks or hidden drawers for extra storage, while elevator coffee tables could be adjusted from a coffee table into a dining table. Nesting tables provided flexibility — stacking neatly away or creating extra surface space when needed.
This collection mid-century furniture brings together dining tables, coffee tables, side tables, nesting tables, and hall tables. With work from Australian furniture makers and Scandinavian furniture designers, these original pieces of vintage furniture remain central to both the dining room and lounge room.
