Our story

Curating Australian and Scandinavian mid-century design

Collectors Edit is an online vintage furniture store based in Coburg, in Melbourne’s northern suburbs. The collection is curated by Neela Shearer, a photographer and Masters of Art graduate. With a focus on mid-century design, the store brings together Australian, Scandinavian and European furniture, handmade objects, vintage artefacts, and works from local artists and makers.

For Neela, mid-century furniture is more than just an object—it’s a form of art. What began as a personal collection has grown into a shared space for others to discover unique, beautiful and considered pieces for the home.

Our furniture is posted on a number of platforms and often sells quickly. We recommend turning on Instagram post notifications or joining the email list to secure one of our special pieces.

Our values

SUSTAINABLE

We hand select pieces that were made to last—and have. By choosing vintage over new, we reduce the demand for mass-produced furniture and keep quality pieces in circulation. Each item is carefully sourced with a view to re-use, repair and restore where needed, offering a more sustainable approach to furnishing a home.

ORIGINAL

Many of our mid-century and vintage pieces are in original condition. When restoration is required, we approach it with care—retaining the original character while preparing the piece for continued use. We use natural and sustainable finishes where possible, including hard wax oils, wool, linen and leather.

AUTHENTIC

Our collection features genuine pieces designed and built by master craftsmen. You'll find work by Australian makers such as Parker, T.H. Brown, Fler and Danish Deluxe, alongside Scandinavian furniture by Børge Mogensen, Arne Vodder, H.W. Klein, Johannes Andersen, Johannes Sorth, Hans J. Wegner and Niels O. Møller.
