Overview
Our collection features (but is not limited to) mid-century and vintage furniture, vintage ceramics, alongside handmade objects, each with its own unique character. These pieces often show signs of age and use that reflect their history and set them apart from mass-produced items. Handmade pieces may also feature slight variations in form, finish or texture.
We prioritise pieces in excellent original condition. When necessary, we perform sympathetic restorations that respect the integrity of the piece. Even after restoration, items may show light wear — in some cases, not every scratch can be fully removed, and some repairs may remain visible. Discolouration from water marks or sun exposure can be reduced but may not be fully eliminated. By purchasing from us, you acknowledge that these vintage items are not perfect and may include some imperfections.
Condition disclosure
We make every effort to accurately represent each item’s condition through detailed descriptions and photographs. All items are photographed to represent their general appearance. Due to lighting, screen differences, and item age, natural variations in colour, patina, texture or grain may exist. Such differences are not considered defects.
Small imperfections are part of what makes vintage pieces unique and are not considered faults. Please review all images carefully, as they form part of the item description. While we aim to disclose any major wear or damage, it is not always possible to catalogue every minor detail.
We recommend reviewing descriptions and images carefully before purchasing. If you require additional photos, video inspection, or further information, please contact us. For interstate customers, virtual inspections can be arranged on request.
Requests for return based on minor condition variations (e.g. surface scratches, small dents, colour discrepancies due to lighting or screens) will not be accepted.
Ownership and responsibility
Title and risk in the goods pass to the purchaser upon collection or delivery. Collectors Edit is not liable for any loss or damage occurring after the item has been handed over to you or your chosen carrier.
If delivery is arranged through a third-party courier, we are not responsible for damage that occurs during transit. However, we can assist you with lodging a claim if the damage is reported within the timeframe outlined below.
RETURNS POLICY
Change of mind
We do not offer refunds, returns, or exchanges on vintage or mid-century items for change of mind (including if you haven’t measured your space correctly). All pieces are sold “as is,” and all sales are final. This applies to all categories, including, but not limited to, furniture, lighting, homewares, ceramics, and art.
Items not fit for purpose
While we do our best to provide accurate photos and descriptions, under Australian Consumer Law you may be entitled to a refund or exchange if an item is significantly different from its description, has a major undisclosed issue, or is not fit for its stated purpose. If you believe something has been missed, please get in touch so we can review the situation in line with your consumer rights.
Items damaged in transit
If your item is damaged during transit, please notify us within 48 hours of delivery. Include clear photographs of the item, the damage, the original packaging and a written description of the issue. We will work with you to assess the situation and liaise with the carrier if required. You can view more information about our Shipping Policy here.
