TH Brown Furniture

TH Brown furniture is a heritage Australian maker established in Adelaide, South Australia in 1911. TH Brown produced some of the most recognised mid-century Australian furniture, including coffee tables, bar stools, dining chairs, armchairs, lounges, and storage pieces. The designs from the 1950s through the 1970s show the distinctive evolution of Australian mid-century design and remain sought after in the vintage furniture market. Many original TH Brown pieces are now heirlooms, prized for their construction and provenance.

Iconic Australian mid-century originals

TH Brown grew from a small workshop in Port Pirie into one of Australia’s most respected furniture makers. In the 1950s and 1960s, under brothers Peter and Napier Brown, its ranges — particularly bar stools, coffee tables, dining tables and dining chairs — became staples in homes and cafés across the country. These pieces were crafted locally in Adelaide using quality materials, building a national reputation for Australian mid-century modern design.
